an idea

Hi everybody,

I am embarking on a project and I thought some of you might want to do something similar.

The general idea is to set a goal for yourself for the year regarding how many items you will make and donate for charity. If you meet that goal, you ask people to send some amount of money to a charity that is close to your heart but that would benefit more from a monetary donation than from something that can be made. As an example, I have set the probably insane goal of making and donating 1,000 items this year. I am asking people to "sponsor" me, which just means that if I succeed, they would donate $20 to the American Cancer Society.

I think it will be a good motivational force for me and maybe fun for the folks that choose to play along. Just thought I'd pass on the concept to you :)

Interesting thought. I do set myself a goal, was a wee short of it this past year, but don't know how I feel about asking people to sponsor me. I've been involved in these types of things years ago when I rode my bike and collected x dollar amount per mile, when my daughter got x for reading a certain number of books etc, so I see where you're coming from. I've had some folks who've donated yarn to me in order to be a part of helping out, hum...think I maul this over.

Have a good wk,
Sandy
